Next Newsletter- We are issuing newsletters every other week. The next newsletter will be sent home on Thursday, March 18.

 

Last Day of School/Good Friday- In order to make up one of our snow days, we will be in school on Friday, April 2Because of this make up day, the last day of school will be Thursday, June 3. 

 

Del-Com Concert- The choirs and bands, as well as fifth grade recorders, of all Del-Com schools will be presenting a concert at Emens Auditorium on Monday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.  We invite all of our patrons to join us for a wonderful night of music.  Parking will be available and free in the Emens and McKinley parking structures from 5:00-9:00 p.m. the evening of the concert.

 

Talent Show- The Talent Show was originally scheduled for Monday, March 15.  Due to the corporation concert, we have moved the Talent Show to Monday, April 12.  Try outs for the Talent Show will be March 31.  Practices will then be April 6, 8, and 9.

 

 

ISTEP+ Make Up Tests- We will be giving some make up tests next week.  If your child missed testing days last week, we will be pulling them out of class time to complete testing.  All testing, including make up tests, must be completed by next Wednesday.

 

PTO News- The next PTO meeting will be Thursday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m.  All meetings are held in the library.  With the carnival and officer elections to be discussed, it will be an important meeting.  The Spring Carnival and Art Show is the biggest event of the year for the PTO.  Everyone can lend a hand to make it a great success.  I look forward to seeing lots of you there next month!

 

Help! Lost Clothing- We have an ever increasing amount of clothing in our lost and found.  The clothes are lost, but no one has found them yet.  If your child is missing something, you should have them check with Mrs. Cook in the office to see if it has been turned in to us.

 

Good Luck to the Math Bowl Team at next week’s state meet!

 

After School Movie- Our final After School Movie will be next Friday.  A flyer is attached to the newsletter today with more information.

 

 

Benefit for the Connor Haughn Family

Wow!  What a turn out for the Haughn Family.  We raised almost $2,000!  Thank you to all who attended!

March 11:        State Math Bowl at Randolph Southern (5:00 p.m.)

March 12:        After School Movie/Title I Parents Night (2:30-5:00 p.m.)

March 14:        Daylight Saving Time Begins

                        (Spring forward one hour)

March 19-26:   Spring Break

April 2:            Good Friday (School will now be in session.)

 

Daylight Saving Time- This year, we go to DST March 14.  Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour the night of March 13.  Please be on time Monday, March 15!

 

 

Annual Albany Tri Kappa Basket Bingo

When: Wednesday, March 17th @ 6:00 (doors open at 5:30)
Where: Albany Elementary School Gym
Why: To raise funds to give scholarships to deserving Delta High School Students
Cost: $20 which includes 15 games of bingo and dinner. (Dinner will be pulled pork from Pete's Duck Inn, salads, desserts, and drinks)


Over $1000 in merchandise will be given away. Also raffle drawings and door prizes given.
Tickets are available for purchase early
from any Tri Kappa member or at the door.

Kindergarten Round Up- Albany Elementary’s Kindergarten Round Up will be Wednesday, April 7.  Students who will be five (5) on or before August 1, 2010 are eligible for enrollment in Kindergarten.
