Director's Bio

Mr. Richard Williams began his theatre "career" when he was ten by building a puppet stage in his backyard - with a lot of help from his father. The stage was necessary because he had sent a bunch of box tops from his favorite cereal to get three puppets - SNAP, CRACKLE, and POP.    Next necessity - scripts! These were written by Mr. Williams! The project grew and puppeteers were needed to work the other puppets and be their voices. Next requirement - lots of rehearsals and rewrites of scripts. Things were going pretty well, but something was missing - an audience! That was an easy fix - the neighborhood was full of kids who would enjoy a play but young enough to be talked into sitting through one of them! It was a fun summer!

By the time he was in high school, he was beginning to explore acting, directing, and the writing of short plays. His senior year he was president of the Anderson High School chapter of the International Thespian Society. Teaching theatre at Delta has been a very rich and rewarding experience.
