The phone rang. Elle slowly got up off the couch to answer it. She was watching her favorite show, Lost, and it was at the climax of the episode. She slowly made her way to the phone while at the same time, trying to keep her eyes on the TV. She reached her hands out to answer it, when suddenly from behind her came a voice. “You answer the phone, you die.” Elle froze. Slowly she turned around to see who the threat had come from. There, standing in the doorway was Joel McCarten. Joel was a wanted kidnapper. He was known for kidnapping young girls between the ages of 11-17. Elle was sixteen, and home alone. The phone suddenly stopped ringing and went to voicemail. “Elle it’s your mother. Get off the couch and answer the phone! Ok, well when you decide to get off your butt and move, call me back.” Elle’s heart was beating so loudly and she felt like she might faint. Joel was still standing there with a gun pointed at her head. “Go sit on the couch and for goodness sake turn that dumb show off,” directed Joel. Elle did as she was told. “What are you going to do to me?” inquired Elle. But before Joel could answer the phone started ringing again. “Cut!!” yelled the director. “Who’s phone is ringing!?” “Sorry that’s my cell phone,” answered Elle. She dug the cell out of her pocket and she answered it.
