The Adult Fitness Program is a program at Delta High School that allows anyone from the community to use the facilities at the high school for recreation and exercise at no cost.  A large portion of people in the area surrounding Delta have no kids currently enrolled in the school, yet they still pay property tax, a tax used to fund the school.  These members of the community should be able to use the facilities, and The Adult Fitness Program makes this possible.  On top of this, The Adult Fitness Program makes it easier for people of all ages to stay fit and live healthier lives.  Currently, Delta High School is the only high school in the area that offers a program like this.

The Adult Fitness Program, led by Media Specialist, Mrs. Amy Lewman, and Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Chuck DeNeal, offers a wide range of activities including basketball, ping pong, weight lifting, swimming, and even aerobics.  It started in the Spring of 2007, and since its conception, has grown to average 100 participants from the community, with around 10 to 20 new members, every week.  It runs from early September to late April and is held around six times a month.  Just recently, a weekly fitness class being offered by The Fisher Institute of Wellness & Gerontology at Ball State University was added to the program.
