During the 1980s, Delta achieved a statewide reputation for its wrestling success.  Coach Don Patton's teams won five consecutive IHSAA State Titles from 1981 to 1985.  Coach Patton was inducted into the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1983.
