Checking Out Books: Books may be checked out as follows:
Overdue materials: may be returned to either the circulation desk or the orange drop box located in the hallway leading to the math department. Student who have an overdue book will not be able to check out other materials until the overdue material(s) are returned. Lost Books: Students who have lost books will be charged current replacement cost for the book. Students may have up to five books checked out at once. Additional materials will be lent to students working on classroom projects. Reserving materials may be done at the circulation desk. Students will be notified when the material requested becomes available. Students must have their id to check out library materials. Signing In: Students must have a green pass when coming to the Media Library Center from class. Students will be expected to sign-in when arriving and place their pass in the basket. Students will work quietly on their assignments while in the Media Center. When leaving the Media Center, students must have their pass signed and sign-out on the clipboard. Students visiting the Media Center during lunch do not have to have a pass unless they need to use the internet. Students who wish to use the internet during class time must present a pass with "internet" on it. Pass is to come from the teacher assigning the internet assignment. Students will not be allowed to interrupt a teacher to have the teacher provide an internet pass for them during their ELC. ELC Students: Four students per class may come to the Media Center. Students are required to sit at separate tables and work quietly when they arrive. Students who abuse their privileges during their ELC will be sent back to class and unable to utilize the Media Center for the remainder of the semester. Returning Books: Students may not cut through the Media Center when going to class. Students may return/check out materials between classes as long as it doesn't make them late. Mrs. Lewman does not issue passes for students to come to the Media Center or to admit them to class from the Media Center unless she has been working with them to resolve a computer problem. Magazines/Newspapers: Current magazines are located in the magazine display rack. The Media Center keeps one year of back issues. Please request back issues at the circulation desk. Magazines do not circulate to students. The "Star Press" and the "Indianapolis Star" will begin after Labor Day. Papers are available for daily use at the circulation desk. Computer Usage: The computers are to be used for research purposes only. Students who visit sights that are not relevant to their assignment will lose their privileges for use of the computers in the Media Center for the remainder of the semester. Students will be allowed to access their Powerschool accounts as needed. The Intensive Study Area (ISA) is a computer lab. Students are not allowed in the ISA unless supervised by their classroom teacher. Student Passwords for the computer- students are the only ones with their passwords. Write it down!! |
