Amy Lewman |
Biography
Mrs. Lewman has been at Delta for 13 years. She enjoys working with the staff and students on a daily basis. She says the best thing about her job is being able to help a student or staff member locate an answer to a question they have trouble answering. She enjoys the interaction with the students as well. She has a K-12 license in physical education as well as K-12 in library services and a minor in adapted physical education. To be a librarian in the public schools you need to have course work in library/media services. Mrs. Lewman graduated from Ball State University. It took her five years to obtain her degrees which includes a semester of student teaching. She was a student assistant and graduate assistant in the reference department at Ball State's Bracken Library from 1989-1995 while she completed her degrees in college. If she could choose a different career, she would have chosen
a career in forensic science. She went to college with the idea of becoming
a math teacher/physical education teacher. After having a mean and hateful
math professor (who taught three other courses in the program), she changed her
mind. She worked at the library and took a reference class to help with her
job. She loved it and changed from math to library services. |
