The Learning Zone is the name that I call room 12 of DMS. This is a 9 week class that is designed and structured to help students learn the basic fundamental skills of Keyboarding. The students are engaged everyday with learning proper typing technique, keys on the keyboard, letters, memos, tables, and charts. High Schools throughout the state of Indiana are moving the Keyboarding classes to the middle schools because studies show that at this age they can perform the skills necessary to be successful. The students will have Keyboarding I in 6th grade for 9 weeks, then they will have Keyboarding II in 7th grade for 9 weeks. The Learning Zone encourages students to challenge themselves, be creative, and to always think positive.
