Young Hoosier Book Award (YHBA)

 

      The YHBA program allows Indiana students to select the recipients of the Young Hoosier Book Award.  Each year lists of books are created from which students read.  DMS students may read from the Intermediate and/or Middle Grades lists.  Any student who reads at least 5 books from his/her list is eligible to vote in April for his/her favorite book.  Ballots are provided in the media center and Mrs. Hunter will tally them.  The results are sent to the Association for Indiana Media Educators (AIME), the professional organization for school library media specialists, which tallies the votes from students across Indiana.  The authors of the winning books are invited to receive their awards at the annual AIME conference.

Students who vote during the April balloting will eat lunch in the media center and be entered in a drawing for prizes.  Results of DMS YHBA balloting will be found on this page.
