Eaton Elementary PTO Minutes
Sept. 9th 2010
Attendants: Niki Gillis, Michelle Beaty, Susie Haggard, Steve Rogers, Kathy Hottinger, Sheli Thomas, Angela Decker, Debbie Browning, Mona Schaus.
Meeting called to order by Niki Gillis 6:35PM.
Previous minutes read by Steve Rogers. Motion to accept by Niki Gillis, seconded by Michelle Beatty. Minutes accepted.
Treasures report read by Susie Haggard. Motion to accept by Niki Gillis, seconded by Steve Rogers. Report accepted.
Unfinished Business
Steve Rogers reports all accounts for GLScrip fundraiser were in place and orders can now be taken. Group decided to collect orders amongst ourselves and the teachers to be put in on Sept. 17th.
Santa Shop will be week of Dec. 13th thru 17th. 13th preview day, 14th K-2nd, 15th 3rd-5th, 16th Last Chance. Susie Haggard is coordinating shopping trip to Fort Wayne.
The following ideas were put forward for the carnival:
Carnival Theme, Norsemen Theme, It was suggested we should contact Union Chapel about borrowing their inflatable games. Also, Steve Rogers is to check on getting a climbing wall. Can we find someone to do a tunnel of boxes? Viking hats are available at Oriental Trading.
Basket Bingo. Sharolyn Coulter has offered to help run the Bingo if we want to have it. It was agreed to talk to her further and try to set a date.
New Business
A call for nomination for a co-vice President was answered by Sheli Thomas. Motion to accept Sheli Thomas by Niki Gillis, 2nd by Steve Rogers. Voice vote for her election was affirmative and unanimous.
Motion to purchase name plates for new staff ($50) was made by Niki Gillis, 2nd by Steve Rogers. Motion accepted.
Susie Haggard brought in examples of Spirit Wear from Robbins Apparel. Motion made to use Robbins for shirt sales by Niki Gillis, 2nd by Steve Rogers. Motion accepted.
Date for Daddy Daughter Dance tentatively set for Feb. 11th.
Request by school nurse for Fluoride treatments for students ($500). Motion made to fund treatments by Niki Gillis, 2nd by Steve Rogers. Motion accepted.
Reminders: Skating Party at Gibson’s Sept. 28th. Christmas Program Dec. 9th. Dec. 15th is Christmas carry-in approximately 40 people.
