Elementary PTO Minutes
March 3rd 2008
Meeting
called to order by Kristy Swoveland at 7:00pm.
Attendants-
Kristy Swoveland, Jessica Hicks, Kathy Hottinger, Kari Anne King, Heather
Melton, Andrea Quellhorst, Debbie Browning, Beth Kirby, Pam Addison, Kim
Hart-Paxson, Michelle Beaty, Nicki Gillis, Larry Cicotte.
Minutes
read by Jessica Hicks. Kathy Hottinger motioned to verify the totals for Santa
Shop. In the minutes it showed $1629.00 and in the treasures report it showed
$1600.29. 1st to motion was Heather Melton, 2nd to motion was Kari
King.
The
treasures report was not read tonight due to Tisha’s absence, however it was
submitted and handed out.
Unfinished Business
Profit
from Basket Bingo February 21st was $2,074.08! Great job Kim and
Kristy!
Field
trip fund was dismissed for the year but will be brought up again for next
year. Most of the classes have taken a field trip already this year.
PTO
Officers ballot as of 3-3-08 Heather Melton for President, Kim Hart-Paxton for
Vice President, Kari King and Nicki Gillis for Treasurer and Jessica Hicks for
Secretary. We will be taking nominations until 4pm on 4-7-08. We will pass out
a ballot to be voted on at the next PTO Meeting 4-8-08.
Donuts
for Dads will be Wednesday 3-5-08 from 7-8:30am (was then postponed due to
weather until 3-7-08) Tisha Stone is chairperson of this event.
New Business
5th
grade pins for graduation and student council were presented by Kristy
Swoveland the cost will be approximately $200. Kathy motioned to purchase the
pins as in the past. A vote was taken and favored unanimously.
Mrs.Addison
presented purchasing t-shirts for the children that attend Camp Tecumseh. The
cost will be approximately $430. Kristy motioned to take a vote on the purchase
and it was favored unanimously.
Kristy
proposed to purchase a welcome mat for the front of the school with this years
profits from the donation dinner, it was tabled to the next meeting when Kristy
will present designs and costs.
Paddle
needs to be ordered
Spring
Carnival will be April 25th 2008 from 5:30-7pm with the tote auction
following!
Set
up will start at 12:30 and should be done by 5:30
The
teachers are volunteering to work in the kitchen with kitchen staff
supervision.
Games-
Some ideas are Ring Toss, Ladder ball (a.k.a. Hillbilly Golf), Corn hole, Duck
pond, Fish pond (with coupons rather than live fish), Bingo, Tattoos, Face
painting, cake walk, Beat the Teacher (race car game),
Pre-sale
tickets and P.O.P (pay-one-price) wristbands will be available! Only one chance
to do the cakewalk with wristband, however you can purchase more tickets to
play. Suggested price for bands will be $15.
Raffles
this year will be held every 30 minutes and will be 3 or 4 themed baskets of
goodies rather than several smaller items. To collect donations a basket will
be taken around for donations to “fill or basket’s” Kim motioned to write names
of winners of the raffles on a chalkboard in case they were unable to hear. It
was then decided that you do not have to be present to win the baskets rather
than raffling the items off that were unclaimed.
Booth
volunteers will be contacted shortly upon receiving a list of volunteers to
call.
Need
donations for cake walk
Clean-up
will start at 7 when the tote auction begins
