Eaton Elementary PTO Minutes

- Meeting
called to order by Heather Melton at 6:35pm.
- Previous
minutes read by Jessica Hicks. 1st to motion and accept was Kim
Hart-Paxson, 2nd was Michelle Beaty.
- Treasures
Report was not read due to the absence of Kari King.
Unfinished Business
- The
new Eaton Norseman mat has finally arrived and unrolled at our meeting! IT
IS A WONDERFUL DISPLAY OF SCHOOL SPIRIT!
- Spirit
Wear is still going well and is being offered at all events including
Donuts for Dads. Jessica Hicks ordered 30 shirts to sell. 15 XL Adult and
15 L Youth. Order forms will be available.
- Basket
Bingo profit was approximately $830! Great work Kim! Next year however we
need a volunteer for each basket to fill!
- Daddy’s
Sweetheart Ball was new this year! We weren’t looking to make a profit and
were only down by $40. They girls really enjoyed this event and we will
definitely do this again! A few changes would be to pre-sale tickets and
have a few extra corsages to sell. We would like to have an event for
sons, maybe a movie night? Maybe take a survey for this for ideas.
New Business/Open Floor
- Donuts
for Dads is March 12th. Donuts are coming from Concannons this
year. It will be from 7-8:30 am.
- Teacher
Appreciation week will be May 4th-8th. Pto will have
a carry in on May 7th making is easy for moms to bring in a
dish.
- Muffins
for Moms is May 7th from 7-8:30. We ordered muffins from Delta
Middle School and plan to do so this year as well. Last year we ordered
student count times 3 and had a lot left! Approximate cost was $245.
- Fundraisers-
We would like to use Farmhouse Creations however the 5th grade
students use them to raise money for Camp Tecumseh. We are considering
doing a spring fundraiser but have not decided.
- Spring
Carnival this year will be a Luau it will be April 24th! We will be doing
presale pay one price bands again for $15. Some ideas are a costume
contest, Limbo, Bean Bag toss to be changed from the clown to a fish,
Hula-hoop Contest, Pop Toss (have kids donate pop) Cake walk with Hawaiian
music (kids donate cake) Make the donations competitive offer a popcorn
party! Tattoos, sand dig and sell laes. Have Teachers staff
kitchen, check with cafeteria to order food. Call Dairy Dream about Snow
Cones (Angie St.John) Mrs.Rafter offered to let us borrow some
decorations. I heard Desoto might have some to! We are going to use the
hallway for some games this year because the gym was crowded last year. We
are checking with the teachers to see if they would like to do totes this
year.
