Eaton Elementary PTO Minutes

October 7^th 2008

Meeting called to order by Heather Melton at 6:35 pm.

Attendants- Heather Melton, Kim Hart-Paxson, Kari Anne King, Jessica Hicks, Kathy Hottinger, Joy Bellinski and Christina Howard.

Previous minutes read by Jessica Hicks. 1^st to motion and accept was Kim Hart-Paxson, 2^nd Kathy Hottinger.

Unfinished Business

• PTO will order the mat for the entryway now that we officially have changed back to the Eaton Norseman Vikings!

New Business

• Grandparent’s day is October 22^nd at 1pm. Kari and Jessica are going to design shirts with the new mascot to be displayed and available to order this day!

• Parent/Teacher conferences are the 23^rd. The PTO is having a carry-in this day for the teachers. Angela Decker will chair this event. Thank you! The PTO would also like to set up a table for the kids to color at and movies to watch while waiting for their parents.

• Saturday with Santa will be December 13^th. Kim Hart-Paxson is chairperson of this event. The kindergarten helps with this event and the profits go to items in need for their classroom.

• Santa Shop will be the week of December 8^th-12^th chaired by Kari King. The suggested schedule is day 1:morning set-up with afternoon preview handled by teachers. Day 2: K-2, day 3: 3-5, day 4: K-5, day 5: optional clearance sale!

• NJHS is having a work night Friday November 21^st and has offered to paint some PTO items for carnival!

• PTO is having a basket bingo chaired by Kim Hart-Paxson on February 21^st or the 28^th if the weather is not cooperative.

• A request for fluoride was made for $340.00. This will supply enough for an 18-week program for grades 1-5. 1^st to motion was Kim Hart-Paxson, 2^nd was Kari King. Voted on and approved.

• Mr. Jackson requested a back drop curtain for the media room. The cost will be $299.00 plus shipping. Jessica Hicks was first to motion, 2^nd was Kim Hart-Paxson. Voted on and approved.
