Mrs. Browning's Resource Room
This is a full-time program with full-time Instructional Assistants. This classroom is designed for children with disabilities. It currently services children from all four of our elementary schools.
Many of these children spend the majority
of the day in this
classroom working on goals that have been set for them. They are
mainstreamed into age-appropriate grade levels for Social Studies,
Science, lunch, and specials with the appropriate modifications made so
that they can be successful. Some of these children are mainstreamed into
the regular classroom for other academic areas depending on the child's
ability level.
In this classroom the children have an opportunity to develop academic and social skills that are necessary for daily living. An Annual Case Review is held every year to review progress, discuss existing needs, and write goals for the upcoming school year.
This classroom also services other disability areas if the Case Conference Committee decides that the child needs more services than the current school can offer.
