BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Dave Grasso – Dr. Grasso thanked Ms. Cross for the food service updates and sharing her slides. He congratulated Ms. Polito on her new position at Royerton.
John Adams – Mr. Adams concurred with his fellow board member. He stated Veterans Day is next week and that’s near and dear to his heart. He gave a shout-out to all Veterans including Mr. Engle and all who have served. He stated he’s glad as a corporation we still honor and have folks in to take part in that. He commented he’s not sure all schools do that, but it seems that has dwindled over the years and he thinks it’s important we still do that. He thanked Ms. Cross for coming and giving them food service updates and stated he doesn’t know how to really put that into perspective other than they are busy and it’s a lot serving 129,520 meals. He asked Ms. Cross to inform her staff of a job well done from the Board. He stated they don’t always get heard about a lot, but they work hard and it’s nice to hear those numbers and all they do. He asked her to please let her staff know they greatly appreciate what they do. He thanked Ms. Polito, Ms. Price, and Ms. Brown for being here. He’s glad they are a part of the family and he can’t wait to see what they bring to the table. He thanked everyone for their donations and stated there are very few meetings that go by where we don’t have donations to our school and they are all greatly appreciated. He gave a shout-out to Coach Overholt and commented 56 wins and 44 losses over his period of time is not too shabby. He stated the amount of time and effort it takes to be the head football coach, or any head coach, is an endeavor and he’s glad we had him. Mr. Adams knows he’ll do even better things as an Assistant Principal for us. He stated it’s greatly appreciated and was a fun ride.
Jacob Case – Mr. Case concurred with his fellow board members. He welcomed all new staff members. He stated food service has served a lot of meals and thanked them for all they do. He thanked everyone for their donations, especially the Eaton Police Department to help pay off student lunch debt.
Valerie Alexander – Ms. Alexander welcomed Ms. Polito, Ms. Price, and Ms. Brown. She stated they couldn’t have decided to join better elementary schools. She appreciates the donations and commented she’s looking forward to winter sports starting up. She stated to remember to vote tomorrow if you haven’t already. She thanked Mr. Adams and Mr. Engle for their service for Veterans Day. She stated the food service department engaging and having fun with the kids and dressing up is really neat and fun.
Lance Engle – Mr. Engle concurred with his fellow board members. He welcomed all new hires and thanked them for joining the DelCom family and hopes they find a home here. He stated it’s a great place to be. He commented we take food service for granted at times. He stated it’s just one of those things where kids go to lunch and they get a meal, but it’s a really big deal. He commented it can make or break a kid’s day sometimes if they are having a tough day, they go get lunch, and their day gets better. He wanted to make sure to comment we need more nacho days at the middle school. He gave a shout-out to the Spell Bowl team for being Hoosier Heritage Conference Champs. He congratulated all fall sports teams and wished good luck to winter sports teams.
