  1. CALL TO ORDER

 

At 6:30 p.m. Board President, Valerie Alexander called the meeting to order.

  1. Amy Larrabee requests permission to attend the EL Admin Network Meeting to be held on September 5, 2025 and May 5, 2026 at the Purdue Technology Center in West Lafayette, IN.
  2. Amanda Lewis requests permission to attend the ICASE Fall Conference to be held from September 24, 2025 through September 26, 2025 in    Muncie, IN.

 

  1. Use of Facilities

 

  1. Billy Lynch, Delta High School Football, requests permission to use the Delta Middle School football field from July 28, 2025 through                 July 31, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to hold a youth football camp, as presented.

 

  1. Caleb Halsema, Albany Marshal’s Office, requests permission to use Albany Elementary on August 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to hold training, as presented.

 

The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

  1. A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the recommendation to employ Mystic Higginson as a Teacher at Royerton Elementary School effective August 4, 2025, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the recommendation to employ Aubree Seals as a Teacher at Royerton Elementary School effective August 4, 2025, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the recommendation to employ Aaron Jackson as a Teacher at Delta High School effective August 4, 2025, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. Classified Staff

 

A motion was made by David Grasso and seconded by John Adams to approve the following (items 1-2):

 

  1. Recommendation to employ Morgan Zacek as an Instructional Assistant at Albany Elementary School effective immediately, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing.  

 

  1. Recommendation to employ Morgan Gaddis as a Bus Aide at Transportation effective immediately.

 

The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

  1. A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the Latchkey Parent Handbook- 2nd Reading.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by Jacob Case to approve the Corporation Benefit Change, as presented.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by David Grasso and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the DHS AD Addendum, as presented.   The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by David Grasso to approve the AES/EES Long Term Sub, as presented.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

 

  1. A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by David Grasso to approve the DMS Long Term Sub, as presented.  The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

  1. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS

 

Lance Engle – Mr. Engle commented that he attended Delta High School for Opening Day and it’s always nice to see all of the smiling faces. He said everyone looks ready to go and that it is always like a big reunion when everyone can see each other and catch up. He thanked Mr. Kile for giving such a good speech. He appreciates all of the hard work the staff has done over the summer and extended good luck to the teachers and staff.

 

David Grasso – Dr. Grasso welcomed and congratulated all of the new staff. He hopes everyone got a chance to enjoy the summer and stated now it’s time to get back to work.

 

John Adams – Mr. Adams concurred with his fellow board members. He thanked Dr. Gullion for his finance review. He thanked Mrs. Wilder for hosting the meeting at her school. He thanked the new hires and welcomed them and the ones who have moved on. He stated they gave their time to the students at DelCom and he appreciates that.

 

Jacob Case – Mr. Case concurred with his fellow board members. He welcomed back all teachers and thanked all the custodians and grounds crew for all of their hard work.  He stated everything is looking great for the start of school on Wednesday. He welcomed all new staff to the DelCom family.

 

Valerie Alexander – Ms. Alexander thanked Mrs. Wilder for hosting the board meeting at her school. She welcomed Mr. Jackson to teaching and Mr. Van Pelt for becoming the head varsity baseball coach. She looks forward to hearing a lot of fun things about baseball next year. She stated she’s heard good things about his health class so she encourages him to continue the good work. She appreciates we had the opening meeting at Delta this morning and was sorry she had to miss it. She stated everyone is always cheerful on returning. She is looking forward to starting and she commented the tennis team was having their first practice tonight and everyone has hit the ground running. She wished everyone a safe, healthy, happy new year.




 

  1. FUTURE MEETINGS

 

  1. A regular meeting for the Board of School Trustees is scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Albany Elementary School.







 

  1. ADJOURNMENT

 

A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by David Grasso and Board President, Valerie Alexander, adjourned the meeting at 6:48 p.m.
