- CALL TO ORDER
At 6:30 p.m. Board President, Valerie Alexander called the meeting to order.

A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by David Grasso to amend the agenda, as presented. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

- A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by David Grasso to approve the recommendation to employ Derek Novsek as a Teacher at Delta High School effective August 4, 2025, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the recommendation to employ John Finley as a Teacher at Delta High School effective August 4, 2025, pending successful completion of all pre-employment testing. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by Jacob Case to approve the recommendation to employ Lynde Bratton as an Athletic Director at Delta High School effective July 15, 2025. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- Classified Staff
- A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by David Grasso to approve the retirement of Walter Wilson, School Bus Driver, effective at the end of the 2024-25 school year. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

- Superintendent Kile informed the Board about the Latchkey Parent Handbook- 1st Reading.
A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by David Grasso to approve the following (items b-c):
- DHS Girls’/Boys’ Tennis Trip, as presented.
- DHS Boys’ Tennis Trip, as presented.
The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- A motion was made by Lance Engle and seconded by Jacob Case to approve Supplemental pay for earning a Master’s Degree, as presented. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by David Grasso to approve the authority to pay claims and hire, as presented. The motion was approved 5-0 vote.
- Superintendent Kile informed the Board about the following fundraisers:

A motion was made by John Adams and seconded by Lance Engle to approve the following (items 1-2):
- Request for Delta High School to accept a donation in the amount of $738.25 from Basketball Boosters, as presented.
- Request for Delaware Community Schools to accept a donation of tee ball field modifications from DLL, as presented.
The motion was approved 5-0 vote.

- BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Lance Engle – Mr. Engle hopes everyone has enjoyed their summer so far. He thanked the employees who are leaving us and stated they’ve spent time with our kids, community, and families and wished them nothing but the best as they move on. He thanked Ms. Edwards, Ms. Neckers, and Mr. Wilson for their time at DelCom. He welcomed all new hires to the DelCom family, thanked them for coming, and looks forward to them doing great things. He congratulated Ms. Bratton and stated moving to athletic director is a big step, but she will do great. He commented her track record has already shown she does great things and she’ll continue to do that. He commented on the baseball field and thanked Delta Little League for coming up with the ideas and funds to do this for our kids. He thinks it will be a great improvement for the future of little league.
David Grasso – Dr. Grasso welcomed all new hires. He stated the improvements from Delta Little League are fantastic. He hopes everyone enjoys the last few weeks of summer break.
John Adams – Mr. Adams concurred with his fellow board members. He informed everyone Bronson Edwards played in the All Star game and got to represent Delta one more time. He commented that’s a big deal and goes to show you can get a good athlete from Delta High School that gets to play and he needs to be recognized for that. He thanked Ms. Neckers, Ms. Edwards, and Mr. Wilson for affecting our kids one way or another and is gracious for that. He welcomed all new hires. He stated Ms. Bratton will do great and commented it’s hard to replace someone’s heart and there is no question where Ms. Bratton’s heart lies. He stated she’s already accomplished a lot for our school and he’s looking forward to what she will accomplish being our athletic director. He stated he is thrilled to have Ms. Bratton in that position and thinks she’ll do a wonderful job. He stated it’s a big step from where she’s been to where she’s going, but there is no question we’ll be in fine hands. He thanked everyone for their donations. He stated it amazes him how we get different donations from people in our community. He is grateful it goes to our kids and couldn’t be more thankful for our community and how they are willing to help. He thanked Delta Little League for the tee ball field modifications and commends all the volunteers for what they are doing to make it better. He commented it makes him proud to sit on this Board and know there are a group of individuals working hard to make our facilities better for all our kids. He stated our facilities look great and he’s had it mentioned to him by others. He thanked all those out there who are keeping up with everything because it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Jacob Case – Mr. Case concurred with his fellow board members. He welcomed all new hires to the DelCom family and wished them the best in their new positions. He gave a shout-out to Mr. Stebbins and the maintenance staff for all the hours they put in, in a small amount of time to get ready for another school year. He gave a shout-out to Mr. Cleland for all the work he does for his tennis camps.
Valerie Alexander – Ms. Alexander congratulated all new hires and informed them she would see them at our New Teacher Orientation in a few weeks. She hopes they enjoy the last few weeks of their break. She thanked Delta Little League for their support and partnership.
- FUTURE MEETINGS
- A regular meeting for the Board of School Trustees is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Eaton Elementary School.
- ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Jacob Case and seconded by David Grasso and Board President, Valerie Alexander, adjourned the meeting at 6:56 p.m.
An executive session was held immediately following the business meeting.
