- BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Adam Williams – Mr. Williams thanked everyone for coming. He stated it always seems the sports teams get extra highlights this time of year and everyone is doing well and trying hard. He commented it is great to see everyone doing their best out there. He gave a special thanks to the cleaning staff. They are an essential part in trying to keep everyone healthy. Mr. Williams appreciates all they do to keep illnesses down. He gave a shout-out to parents and stated if their kids are sick, keep them home, use your judgement, and don’t take the risk of things spreading.
Tyce Stebbins – Mr. Stebbins welcomed Ms. Pajari and Ms. Carrier. He hopes they enjoy working at DelCom. He stated the people here are what make this school district great. Mr. Stebbins is glad Mr. Gordon’s situation will work out best for both parties. When everyone is happy it helps out a great deal. He hopes Mr. Gordon enjoys his new role and DelCom benefits from his new responsibilities. Mr. Stebbins thanked Ms. Cole for her time during the meeting where they announced her retirement, but wanted to thank her again. He thinks the conference requests are great. He stated we spend a lot of time talking about money and being responsible, but from the feedback they get, most of the conference requests are very beneficial. He stated it’s nice we can do that and our staff can benefit from them. He stated it was nice to get the note from Mr. Kidd. Obviously we were far from his request, but Mr. Stebbins thinks Mr. Kidd realizes in the long run there are some things you have to play by certain rules. Mr. Stebbins thanked Union Baptist Church for their donation and he hopes the Jazz Band has something on their wish list they can use it for.
Alice Gillis – Ms. Gillis is happy NWEA testing went smoothly and it’s nice to have that accomplished. She congratulated the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams and the wrestling team. She congratulated Mr. Gordon and wished him good luck with his new position.
John Adams – Mr. Adams stated he was able to watch the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams. The girls played their heart out, but came up a little bit short. He stated it was nice for the boys to come through in the end and become county champs. He congratulated the coach and kids on playing 3 games within a few days of each other and getting that done. He welcomed Ms. Pajari and Ms. Carrier. Mr. Adams would concur with Mr. Stebbins that this is a great place to work and be a part of. He stated someone in the community is always stepping up with a donation and giving to our kids in some way. He thanked Union Baptist Church for the donation to the Jazz Band. He hopes there is something the jazz band is going after that they can get with the help of the donation. Mr. Adams gave a shout-out to Mr. Mann, Dr. Gullion, and those at transportation that run the roads. He stated they do that early to make sure our kids have a save way to and from school. He stated it’s cold out and tough, but they do an excellent job and he greatly appreciates it.
Trent Fox – Mr. Fox thanked everyone for coming and congratulated all new hires. He stated it’s exciting to have those positions filled and ready to move forward. He wanted to mention Saturday was a big day at the high school. Wrestling was all day and they only had a window of about an hour and a half between wrestling and people showing up for county. He stated Lisa and her group did a fabulous job getting everything done. They did the entry way, steps, bleachers, and cleaning everything as if it was the end of the day. Then they had to turn around and do it again after county was over. Mr. Fox wanted to give a special shout-out because it was a big day for them to have to go through all that and do everything they had to do.
