It was a hard fought match against Homestead and Mr. Cleland commented to Mr. Conley that we made them sweat. He informed everyone Jason Wegener will be playing in the All State Tennis Tournament at DePaul on November 4th. He stated cross country is still running with Cade Orchard and Ryan Fox representing at the Fort Wayne Semi State on Saturday. Girls’ cross country won the cross country sectional and finished 3rd in regionals. They will advance as a team and will all be running at the Sports Complex across from the Coliseum at IPFW. He informed everyone the football team will host Marion Friday night in sectionals at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Conley is looking forward to the 2 hour in-service day tomorrow. He stated they will have Nearpod and Canvas training. Nearpod is an interactive slide presentation and Canvas is a way for our teachers to put content online so our students can access it. He stated it also helps them with grading and will now talk with PowerSchool. They will be able to grade in Canvas and it drops into PowerSchool. He thanked the Board for letting them do 2 hour in-service days and for creating the Curriculum Director position with Greg Kile. He stated it’s very expedient for him to pick up the phone, call Mr. Kile, and let him know he needs help. He thanked the Board for that support.
Scott Blakely, Principal at Eaton Elementary School, stated they’ve had a great start to the school year. He’s blessed and thankful he gets to be a part of this district. He informed everyone Grandparents Day was phenomenal. He was amazed at how many Grandparents showed up. It was a great turn-out with very positive interaction. He stated Ms. McKee was nominated with NASH FM. Thursday at 8:05 a.m. the students will be On Air for their Book Club. He said the kids were excited for the mystery of who the teacher was that won. Mr. Blakely wanted to echo Mr. Conley about the 2 hour delay tomorrow. He commented the first session was very valuable and appreciated. He informed everyone tomorrow they are working on Nearpod and the State required Bullying Training. He is looking forward to getting Parent Teacher Conferences completed this week. He stated some teachers were there tonight trying to do conferences so they can get everybody in. He thanked the Board and stated it’s been a great ride so far.

He stated it’s been a great year of success, but more importantly how well they represented in the community and the commitment they put into growing as individuals. He thanked the people who presented earlier for their time and effort. He stated it was a lot of information and he appreciates them taking time out of their evening and giving information to them so they can process it correctly. Mr. Williams appreciates the administration, staff, and teachers for all their hard work and doing a lot of supplemental research to come up with ideas to keep moving our district forward.
Tyce Stebbins – Mr. Stebbins thanked everyone for coming. He stated 180 students out of 600 and some participating in fall sports at the middle school is awesome. He stated that’s almost a 1/3rd so that’s really neat. He thanked everyone for the donations.
Alice Gillis – Ms. Gillis congratulated the high school and middle school sports teams who won and wished good luck to those moving on. She stated she attended Grandparents Day at Albany Elementary and got her own personal demonstration on a Chromebook from one of the students. She congratulated Ms. McKee from Eaton Elementary for the NASH FM win.
John Adams – Mr. Adams concurred with his fellow board members on fall sports teams and how well they’ve done this year. He wished the best of luck to those continuing on. He thanked the administrators who are here for giving them insight on their buildings. He congratulated Ms. McKee on being the NASH FM winner. He welcomed all new employees and thanked those who have moved on that spent time in our corporation with our kids. He stated it doesn’t seem like a meeting goes by where we aren’t getting a donation of some sort. He said being the long member on the Board, our community is great. We have consistently got a donation of some sort over the last 11 years he’s been on the Board. He thanked those who have donated to our corporation. He hopes everybody had a great Fall Break and are ready to get back at it and get on with the school year.
Trent Fox – Mr. Fox thanked everyone for coming. He stated their work session went a little long earlier, but they got a lot of good information that will be good for them to talk about and see what they can do in the future to try to make our school environment better for our kids and staff. He hopes it will be something everybody can be proud of once it’s all accomplished and done. He congratulated all fall sports teams and those continuing on in their seasons. He stated we have one student going to Youth Salute which is a great experience. Mr. Fox is glad we still have a student going to represent our school because that’s always a good thing to have.
